My Skeet Pony-puff!!!

No clips, no gel. Just water and the Denman 7:

Okay, back to packing!

I Hate My Obsessions!

I hate when I get obsessed about something. It's usually out of the blue, but I think I've been harnessing this one for awhile. Here's the story: in the midst of packing for the move, I saw my "Sex" book by Madonna (metal cover, Big Daddy Kane, Naomi Campbell, and Vanilla Ice - what was Madonna thinking?). I opened it and saw the picture of her with her shorts pulled down and these boots on:

I have to have these boots! After all these years at that... this is as close as I can come to finding them:

I have to have them!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Big Chop!!!

Happy 1 year anniversary of my Big Chop (on April 19, 2009)!

I guess it was easy to grow out, because of the lace wigs. I don't like the itch, I don't like the adhesive, I don't like the hair pulling, but if these are the results of weekly applications, then I'm forging ahead. I think I should be shoulder length by the two year anniversary (4/19/2011). Happy growing!

Today was also MegaTek day (with a little Mane N Tail combed through):

Now, to start packing...

Easy Like Sunday Afternoon!

It's Sunday, and I'm doing a Organix Vanilla Silk deep conditioning treatment. I can't get over my hair, lol. I was driving from the new place on Friday, and my hair was just blowing in the wind. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror at it. It's not a narcissistic thing, it's a "I can see my hair goal at the end of the tunnel" thing.

I've found some really great ventilating videos on YouTube. I'm so excited about it. I know it's going to be tedious and arduous, but the money I'll save on my wigs. The money I'll make on my wigs! The possibilities are endless.

Still only two book sales... better than nothing.

I Feel Like I've Made It!!!

I feel like I've made it! I'm on Amazon.com, well the book is on Amazon.com:

Magic Hair: My Experiences with Lace Wigs

As much as I shop on Amazon.com, and to see a product of mine on there... it's mind blowing.

We're in the process of moving... I just wanted to let you all know this.

Textlax Day!

This is pre-textlaxed hair:

This is after the (2-step) textlax:

I had to do it today, because we're in the process of moving, and it would have been too hectic around the 19th. I'm so happy with the length of my hair. I'm combing the roots a little bit while the cream is on, but keeping the ends curly. Still doing the conditioner/MegaTek thing. I put Nexxus on it in the pictures. I'm hoping to get a virgin Malaysian loose curly for the Rush show.

Now What???

The book is done. Two copies have sold (yea me)! Now what? It's time for the music. I promised Andrew that I wouldn't pick up another project (other than trying to find a job). Once the royalty checks start coming in from book sales, I'll buy ventilating tools. I'm going to start off ventilating the three wigs I have. Then I'll move into making the wigs.

I'm so excited, because it was announced that my favorite musical group is coming to Mountain View on August 9th - RUSH!!! I saw them last in 2008 (2007 before that, same tour). I still love them, and I still listen to Snakes & Arrows like it was released yesterday. They're touring behind 1981's Moving Pictures (Tom Sawyer anyone?). I think that's the new trend, to play an album in its entirety. Moving Pictures only has 7 songs on it, so we're all wondering what other songs they'll play. This concert will also be poignant for me and Andrew, because when we met, our first conversation was about RUSH. We have RUSH tattoos - we're crazy about them. I can't wait!

It's Available for Purchase!!!

Click on any pink book on the page, and it will take you to the e-store. I'm so excited! If my book helps one person, then my job is done. If I don't remove it, I've used "Entrance of the Gladiator" as the music for the book video (composed in 1897 by the Czech composer Julius Fučík). I think it's appropriate, but I may change it because it might get on some people's nerves.

Next up, moving! I can't wait.

Today Should Be the Day!

I'm waiting on the mailman to deliver the last proof. It should be perfect. I've put up all the links, but the cart isn't ready, because they're still waiting on me to approve the proof. I want to so badly, but I don't want to, and then I see a glaring typo in the book. How embarrassing. I'll update in a couple of hours.

I'm about to do another app. I washed my hair last night and took pictures, but these aren't official April pics. I'm going to wait until April 19th - the official 1year anniversary of the Big Chop. I'm also textlaxing on that day. I'm in love with my hair!

Proof #4 - Hopefully the Last!

I'm waiting for the re-edited and re-proofed document to be approved for proof status, then I'll order one more, it will be perfect, and it will be on sale by next week. I will actually wait until I receive proof #4 before I approve it. No jumping the gun this time. I can see the light at the end of this (short) tunnel. Fingers crossed.

I'm So Excited... Yet Frustrated!

The proof came, as you all know (see above and below). I've edited and added, and more importantly, changed the line spacing and changed the margins back. So it went from 158 pages back down to 132 pages. Oh well, my next book will be epic. So I'm playing the proof dance with CreateSpace. The two larger books that are coming will be sent to my mother and my daughter. Then I'll get another proof (as the book looks now), and hopefully that will be it. I'm not going to even open the .doc again until proof #3 is in my hands. I hate being a perfectionist, but I definitely don't want to be publicly roasted for blatant typos, so it has to be right. This is how it's supposed to be. I knew it wasn't going to be perfect right out the gate. Aghhhhh!
